Encore Decor has proudly partnered with Food & Friends for years, providing fresh floral arrangements that are delivered alongside meals to clients throughout the Washington, DC region. Through this ongoing partnership, we are honored to help advance Food & Friends’ mission of delivering hope, dignity, and nourishment to neighbors facing serious illness.
This year, we were especially proud to support the organization’s signature fundraising event, Chef’s Best, a DC charity event, as Decor Sponsor—and to do so on a larger scale than ever before.
From the moment guests arrived, nearly every visual element of the experience reflected the work of Encore Decor, our talented internal team, and our creative partners. Signage, stage design, audiovisual elements, tabletop florals, and auction displays came together to create an atmosphere that was both celebratory and meaningful.
One area where our team particularly enjoyed flexing its creative muscles at this DC charity event was the silent auction. The theme, A Taste of Escape, invited guests to imagine adventures around the world, giving us plenty of room to create immersive floral vignettes inspired by the destinations and experiences up for bid. Auction packages included a trip to Bali, an evening on the Potomac, six nights in Seoul, and tickets to see the Washington Capitals, each enhanced with carefully curated props, florals, and décor that helped bring the experience to life and create excitement around the item.
Designing a DC Charity Event Takes Creative Support
At its heart, being involved with Chef’s Best was about far more than design. It was about supporting an organization and DC charity event that has transformed the lives of countless individuals and families through the belief that food can be medicine. We are grateful to play a small role in helping Food & Friends continue that mission and look forward to supporting many more events that strengthen our community through compassion, care, and connection.
As a sponsor, Encore Decor collaborated with Food & Friends on a special gift for the guests. “We co-branded custom cutlery sets and distributed them to 800 seats,” says Sara Rose Harmon, Encore’s president, pictured here. “We also branded the auction area with 10 different travel packages that were bid on throughout the evening.”
